Material reuse
Material reuse is an important part of the circular economy, focusing on preventing waste and maintaining the value of materials. Some of the metals we use, such as manganese and copper, are on the list of critical raw materials. Our customers follow in this policy, and by avoiding waste also want to reduce their own carbon footprint.
Already, more than 90% of our smelting mass is reused material: 42.5% internally reused and recycled, 48% externally recycled.
We want to commit to closing the loop again, and actively recover discarded castings from our customers. After all, these castings contain the metals that we add to the base castings for new pieces. This reduces the amount of new alloys we have to use now. Our target is to be able to load 95% recycled material into our smelters.
Environmental efforts of Allard-Europe recognized with a B rating for transparency
On Dec. 10, 2025, Allard-Europe was recognized for its transparency on environmental issues and sustainability by CDP, the global environmental nonprofit organization that operates the world’s only independent disclosure system.
Allard-Europe received a “B” score for climate change, based on data provided through CDP’s questionnaire. This is based on nearly 20,000 companies assessed in 2025 and more than 22,100 companies reported in the same year. A B is the highest score for a company such as Allard-Europe (SME category).
CDP uses a rigorous and independent methodology to assess the quality of disclosures, risk awareness, environmental management and evidence of best practices. Scores range from A- to D- and reflect the level of ambition, goal setting and action taken.
